This Week in Motor Vehicles 18.01.23
This week learners on the level one diploma in Automotive maintenance and repair programme have been learning all about engine cooling systems in unit L1AM05. This unit enables learners to develop knowledge, understanding and skills associated with the basics of engine cooling and the different types of cooling systems.
All learners carried out both theory and practical sessions including removing a radiator after pressure testing the system for leaks, then on to removing a thermostat and testing with boiling water. We expanded their knowledge by incorporating past/future units by removing aux belts and alternators to gain access to remove water pumps and thermostat housings etc.
