Northumbria Violence Reduction Unit- exciting project plans for 2023

Sarah came to meet Trinity Post 16 Solutions Ltd Learners and tell them about a project that they will be undertaking in the New Year. The focus will be building healthy relationships, wellbeing and staying safe. The learners will be exploring ways in which they can keep themselves informed, protected, and fulfilled in their independent lives.

Subjects such as online communications, friendships, self-care and vulnerability will be discussed, along with a visit from Newcastle based support service ‘Streetwise’. Sarah and the learners expressed how valuable meeting new people and trying new things will be.

And now for the fun part: our learners will then showcase the skills they have learned to use a creative media of their choice. Artwork, Poetry, Drama, Music - anything they like! One of our learners was particularly excited about the prospect of writing poems, and Sarah mentioned a previous entrant who even wrote a rap song.

We and our learners are very much looking forward to starting this three-month project with the Violence Reduction Unit. The big reveal of our work will be at the end of March - get ready for some powerful and informative creations!
