Street Wise
Street Wise is a project for young people in the centre of Newcastle that provides free advice, counselling and sexual health services to 13- 25 year olds.
Our Trinity Post 16 Solutions Ltd group paid a visit to take a closer look; they enjoyed a tour around the building along with stacks of information on what Street Wise has to offer. In a central yet discreet location, Street Wise provides young people with a quiet and peaceful place to get advice, do their homework, volunteer or just relax with a board game or play on the PlayStation.
The friendly staff handed us leaflets and made us feel very welcome. They also received a helpful suggestion from one of our learners- apparently the Count Down board game is the best!
Our learners took part in Travel Training to get to the organisation, using their newly gained skills in asking for tickets, money handling and reading bus timetables.
