Construction

This course aims to prepare you for the world of work in brickwork, basic construction, joinery and plastering. You will gain practical knowledge and experience of the industry whilst studying with highly skilled staff in a specialist training environment. You can train up to level two standard, as well as improving skills such as communication, teamwork, leadership, health and safety in the workplace, and customer care. Throughout the course, you will also be given opportunities to participate in work placements with experts from reputable companies across Newcastle.

The Learn to Work Programme will also include:

Personal Social Development, Employability Skills, Maths and English (Functional Skills up to GCSE), Digital Skills and British Values. All of our qualifications are nationally recognised.

Entry Requirements:

There are no formal entry requirements. Individual needs will be assessed at interview to ensure you are enrolled in the most suitable programme.

Progression Routes:

There are excellent progression opportunities in this industry including plasterer, bricklayer, joiner, tiler, sales & marketing, estimator, architect, construction plant operator and site manager.

Remote Learning:

All theory elements of each course can take place remotely with staff completing regular welfare checks. Training will be given to learners and policies will need to be discussed and acknowledged, before remote learning takes place.
