School Nurse Visit

Last week our learners had an educational visit from the school nurse. As a part of the PWS2 outcome for the Teaching Assistant award, the students partook in a practical session researching all about the spread of infection within schools.

As you can see the learners worked with the nurses looking at the ‘fake germs’, that they had rubbed onto their hands under a UV light. Following instruction from Dawn the learners washed their hands with correct technique, looking at the retention of germs.

Next Summa, Amie, Lauren and Cameron stepped outside whilst Dawn put the fake germ powder and cream all around the classroom, Using the UV lights the learners had to work as a team to locate the germs.

Finally, the learners all used their descriptive writing skills to write out newsletters explaining what they had learnt throughout the session.
