Safer Internet Day 2020: Together For A Better Internet

On Monday 10th February, learners from the LLDD Supported Interns programme and Project Choice collaborated to create posters for Safer Internet Day. In English, learners are expected to create informative texts with the appropriate organisational features such as headings, subheadings and pictures so this was the perfect opportunity to practice.

his year’s theme, ‘Together For A Better Internet’, inspired learners to explore how we can make the internet a safer space for their peers. They demonstrated excellent knowledge of the dangers and risks associated with social media, gaming and online shopping, and proposed ways of safeguarding young people.

Today’slearners wanted their peers to know that our actions on the internet can have serious consequences. We can cause hurt, low self-esteem, physical injury and can even ruin our chances of employment if we share certain viewpoints in public spaces.

2020 should be the year we reclaim the internet for good. Visit Safer Internet for tips on how to stay safe and positive online.
