Knife Angel & Samantha’s Legacy Visit #SAFERINTERNETDAY

On Tuesday 11th February, some of our learners in Solutions visited the Knife Angel Sculpture in Gateshead. They showed a great amount of respect for the members of Samantha’s Legacy as they told the sad and moving story of a victim of knife crime. The workshop gave a very hard-hitting effect on our young people and informed them of some of the risks of carrying a knife and the effects on your own and other’s Mental Health. Our learners asked questions, were polite and respectful and would like to learn more about the dangers of carrying a knife. As part of Safer Internet Day 2020, learners captured pictures of the very powerful sculpture that is the knife angel. They uploaded these onto social media to show support for the Legacy. We discussed the importance of controlling your settings on Social Media, the effective use if HashTags and also enjoying Social Media as a way of networking and supporting things which you are interested in, safely.
