First Aid Training June 2025

Learners have recently completed a Young Responders first aid course that was organised by St Johns Ambulance through the Violence Reduction Unit. Learners spent the afternoon completing the course. They learnt how to put somebody into the recovery position, confidently do CPR and also, how to control and stop a heavy bleed. All the learners that took part were competent, enthusiastic, and confident and they were also very engaged the whole session.
They have learnt basic life skills and gained the knowledge on how to act quickly in an emergency. Learners were also awarded a certificate for completing the course.
The learners had some great feedback from Ian who ran the course:
‘I’d just like to thank you for the warm welcome I received from you and the whole team but more importantly the Young people that attended the session. They are a real credit to themselves and the school, and I really enjoyed their enthusiasm, and their participation during the session. They truly made it easy to deliver the session.’
