Forest School Adventures

Over the last two weeks, learners have taken part in engaging Forest School sessions, making full use of the outdoor environment and the variety of activities available. They created Christmas wreaths using natural materials, made bird feed lard balls to support local wildlife, collected wood, and worked together to build protective walls from sticks around the new fire pit.
Learners also experimented safely with sparklers, eggs, and oranges to explore how light can make objects glow from the inside. These activities encouraged teamwork, resilience, and practical problem-solving, while offering opportunities for stretch and challenge through the use of maths skills such as measuring, counting, and planning. Strong attendance and positive engagement showed learners were well prepared to make the most of these experiences.
Learners also enjoyed relaxing on swings and hammocks, skimming stones in the river, and observing local wildlife, supporting wellbeing and confidence. Communication, listening, and reflective discussions throughout the sessions helped reinforce English skills in a practical and meaningful way.
