Learners Learn Lifesaving Skills!

Learners recently took part in an exciting and highly practical Street First Aid session, delivered as part of the ongoing Violence Reduction Unit (VRU) programme.
During the session, learners were guided through a range of essential first aid techniques, including how to place a casualty safely into the recovery position — a vital skill that could one day save a life.
They also discovered how to make improvised tourniquets using everyday items found close to hand, getting creative with t-shirts, scarves, sticks and even toothbrushes!
As well as this, learners put their skills to the test by performing chest compressions on resuscitation mannequin Annie, gaining hands-on experience of CPR in a safe and supportive environment.
The learners thoroughly enjoyed the session and, as a fantastic reward for their hard work and engagement, each walked away with a First Aid Certificate — a brilliant addition to their personal achievements!
