Violence Reduction Unit - Knife Crime
This week, we welcomed the Violence Reduction Unit, who delivered a powerful and informative session on knife crime. The aim was to raise awareness among learners about the dangers and consequences of carrying knives, as well as the wider impact on individuals, families, and communities. The session featured real-life stories, hard-hitting statistics, and practical advice on staying safe and making positive choices.
Learners also had the unique opportunity to use a VR headset, which allowed them to experience realistic scenarios and better understand the emotional and legal consequences of knife crime. This immersive element had a strong impact, encouraging reflection and meaningful discussion. Learners engaged thoughtfully throughout and asked insightful questions, showing maturity and a genuine concern for the issue.
