Exploring Futures: NE1 Can Allied Health Workshop
On Wednesday 4th March, learners from Health and Social Care attended the Vermont Hotel to take part in the NE1 Can Allied Health Workshop. The workshop featured a range of NHS roles—including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy and podiatry—with professionals coming together to speak to learners and share what a typical day in their role looks like.
This provided a great insight into the variety of careers available and the different pathways learners can take to achieve them. Some staff had followed more traditional routes, such as university, while others had progressed through apprenticeships and work‑based training.
