A Strong Start in Maths and English

Our Maths and English learners have been busy getting started with their learning for the new academic year.

Learners have completed their initial assessments in Maths and English, helping tutors to identify individual starting points, recognise existing strengths and highlight areas for development. This information will allow tutors to plan learning and support that is focused on what each student needs to work on throughout the year.

Learners have also been getting familiar with IXL, a new online diagnostic and revision tool that we are trialling this year. Across a range of lessons, learners have had the opportunity to explore the platform and become confident using its different features.

Tutors will use IXL alongside classroom learning to help consolidate key skills and set targeted activities based on areas that individual learners may find more challenging.  We will also be sharing information with parents and carers on using the resource at home.

We have loved welcoming and getting to know our new cohort.  We cannot wait to see their confidence, skills and achievements develop over the coming term.
