Army Visit Inspires Post 16 Learners to Think About Their Future

Our Post 16 learners recently welcomed a special visitor from the British Army, who came to share insights into the wide range of progression opportunities available within the Army. Learners heard first-hand about entry requirements, training routes, and the variety of career paths the Army offers.
The session went beyond information — our guest also shared his personal journey, describing how he joined the Army and the experiences that shaped his career. His story encouraged learners to reflect on their own aspirations and consider the many different ways to achieve their goals. The feedback from the session was outstanding, with learners reporting that they now have a clearer understanding of what employers expect, why Maths and English are important, and the significance of regular college attendance.
This visit forms an important part of our careers programme and supports the Gatsby Benchmarks, particularly by providing encounters with employees and addressing the individual needs of learners. Opportunities like this help raise aspirations and inspire learners to think carefully about their next steps after Post 16.
