Recycling Week Inspires Learners to Take Action
National Recycling Week provided a perfect opportunity for Functional Skills English learners to tackle one of the most pressing topics in their assessments—and in our world: the environment. Discussions centred around climate change, pollution, and the alarming rate of animal extinction, sparking passionate debate and meaningful reflection.
Learners brainstormed practical solutions, from saving energy and reducing plastic use, to protecting endangered species and rethinking how we consume and discard goods. The session culminated in learners writing persuasive articles aimed at encouraging other young people to take environmental issues seriously and make sustainable choices in their daily lives.
