The Spaghetti Bridge Challenge
Our learners were set a simple but tricky task: build a bridge out of nothing but dry spaghetti and tape. The bridge had to be strong enough for a ball to roll all the way across without breaking. It sounded easy… until the spaghetti started snapping!
But instead of giving up, the teams got to work. They talked, planned, measured, and tested. Some tried triangles, some built arches, and some made clever supports from leftover pieces. There were a few disasters along the way — and a lot of laughter — but every mistake led to a better design.
When the final test came, everyone gathered round to watch. The ball rolled slowly across one bridge… and it held! The cheers and smiles said it all.
That day wasn’t just about building bridges — it was about teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving. It showed 
what happens when young people share ideas, support each other, and don’t give up when things get tough.
