Dieslel Fuel

This week learners studying IMI Level 1 diploma in automotive maintenance have been learning all about diesel fuel systems in unit L1AM08 compression ignition engine fuel systems maintenance. This is the eighth unit towards their diploma.

All learners were expected to demonstrate the correct procedure when, removing and replacing a fuel filter, inspecting an air filter, carrying out a visual check for fuel leaks and checking / adjusting engine idle speed. All learners enjoyed taking part in the practical tasks and did a great job of demonstrating their skills. In addition to the assessment criteria for this unit learners also took part in the removal of a diesel fuel tank and an Exhaust gas recirculation valve (EGR) which will help when carrying out the practical tasks on the next unit Exhaust systems.
